Research Interests:
Dr. Maddox's research centers on the hepatic toxicity of chemicals. One focus is on the effect of liver inflammation, caused by bacterial endotoxin, on secondary xenobiotic exposure. She also investigates the impact of antioxidant nutrition and anti-inflammatory eicosanoids on a mouse model of arthritis. Identification of the underlying molecular and signal transduction events in inflammation may help in identifying new prophylactic and therapeutic approaches to these diseases.
